The availability of Bresson films on VHS

The North Americas (NTSC)
The quality of all of the films are about average for VHS, perfectly watchable, but far from ideal.

Europe (PAL)
The quality of all of the Artificial Eye VHS tapes is just below average (poor picture, most likely because of high speed dub onto poor tape). The Nouveaux Pictures titles are somewhat better, but still only average.

For some reason, the Artificial Eye VHS tapes of Pickpocket and Lancelot du Lac both went OOP a couple of years ago. Wait for the DVD releases or look for a PAL recording from the FilmFour broadcasts (a UK digital subscription channel), which will be better quality than the OOP Artificial Eye VHS.
